  1. No 'if' about it. Except that we are apes.

apes descended from an earlier primate (that was like a lemur), which descended from an earlier mammal, which descended from an earlier land animal.

  2. The human being belongs to the scientific order Primates, a group of more than 230 species of mammals that also include lemures, loris, tarseros, monkeys and simios. The modern man, first homínidos and other species of primates present/display numerous similarities to each other but also some important differences. The study of these similarities and differences helps the scientists to include the roots of many human characteristics, as well as the meaning of each stage of its evolution. All the primates, including the human being, share at least one series of characteristics that distinguish to them of other mammals. Many of these characteristics went evolving to adapt to their life in the trees, surroundings in which the first primates were developed. Among them it is possible to mention: greater use of the view against the sense of smell, prehensile overlapping of fields of vision to obtain a stereoscopic vision (three-dimensional), members inferiors and hands, capacity to take hold and to balance in trunks and branches of the trees, capacity to maintain and to manipulate small objects (using fingers with nails instead of claws), great brains in relation to the corporal size, as well as complex social lives. The scientific classification of the primates reflects the evolutionary relations between the different species and groups from species. The primates that constitute the Prosimios suborder - between whose present representatives they are lemures, the tarseros and loris, among others species they were first in evolving and they represent the oldest form of primates. Other systems of classification group to the tarseros with the antropoideos, since they share some fundamental characteristics from a genetic point of view. Monkeys, simios and men - who share many characteristics that are not in other primates constitute the Antropoideos suborder. Simios and men train the superfamily Hominoideos, classification that puts of relief the close relation between the individuals of these two groups. .
