  1. More pitching practice. Obviously you can't really "un-injure your players" but you can work with the young pitchers and get them better.

  2. Fire them up. Find a way to get some hustle into these guys. Take Cano out in the middle of an inning at home to show him up in front of the fans, that'll be sure to get him to stop dogging it in the field. Put Melky on the bench, and keep him there. Closed door meetings? I think so. I really hope we can get Matsui back soon...I always expect him to hit. I'd be here all day if I typed up everything they've done wrong, so I'll just leave it at that.

  3. Guys remember Bobby Murcer died....play for him.

Maybe the home crowd will cheer them up and that will get them going.

  4. motivation...it takes specific things with specific people...find what motivates them and get them motivated to play their 110% every pitch no matter the score or the record or mathematical numbers

  5. A nite out at da ole woodshed mite be wat they be needin. Umm hmmm. That or a kaiser blayd to der skull, umm hmmm.

  6. Pray........!!

  7. Work with the pitching staff. The Nady and Pudge deals helped with the offensive injuries... but Cashman is apparently allergic to signing free-agent pitching.

I would burn the bridge for this year, and focus on improving and developing young relievers and starters, because they will need to have someone in the 3, 4, 5 slots in the rotation (Mussina's aberrant performance this year should not stop him from getting the boot from the team... or at least to the bottom of the rotation).  They also need people to get from said starter to the closer.

  8. It is not a manager's job to motivate players.  It is a managers job to tell the GM to get the worthless SOBs that are not doing their jobs off of his team.

That is what Sweet Lou and Ozzie do in Chicago (Sweet Lou is more brutal with his players though.  If he don't like you, then you know it).  Notice, the White Sox started hitting when Ozzie told Kenny Williams to look for trades.

So that is how a manager should motivate their players, by expecting them to do their jobs or get the h**l out.

  9. I would un-injure my pitchers.

  10. get new player

because the yankee the there the best but they been wack sense the Boston red sock bet them

and tell me this how is the met have a better score that them.

the yankee r just too stock  and conceded
