The influence of evil and laziness has poisoned us humans that's why we aren't so perfect anymore. We were given the right to free will. And we humans chose the tempting behavior of evil. So at our present state, we ALL SUCK. God has power over us but He promised us free will so He kept His word and he doesn't change our own decisions. So we are the cream of the creation but we are imperfect because of our abusive powers over ourselves and nature

Some people seem to think that we are spiritually or emotionally imperfect. I don't believe this is true, since these qualities are very subjective are not able to be rated on any scale of goodness.

However we are anatomically imperfect. Either god is a lazy or poor physicist or we were not individually created. Humans undergo back problems, knee problems, and hip problems, especially in the elderly. What we have is good enough, not as good as possible.

We are not the cream of creation. The animals demonstrate more wisdom. We are so backward that whatever we create for good perpetuate evil. Even the food we manufacture is poison. With all of that said, how would 'perfect' be possible in anything? Would this not create a flat one-dimensional piece? No pro with which to define the con. No negative to use to conjure up a concept of ideal with. No bitter so as to apreciate the sweet. Could we even generate the awareness? Let us thread cautiously...

It is only our arrogance that says we are the 'cream' of creation.  I think any objective observer might look at Earth and say that it's the dolphins, or perhaps elephants, who are the 'cream'.  I think it's a misconception anyway, that somehow creation, or evolution has an ultimate end-point, and we are it.  We can't make a conclusive judgement on this, because we don't know what's going to evolve in the future - from any species, not just us.  It says in the bible that 'the meek shall inherit the earth' - well, out of humans, elephants and dolphins, for arguments sake, who is the 'meekest'?  I'd put my money on the dolphins - there's not much 'meek' about humanity.

We are here largely because a large meteorite struck the Earth 65 million years ago, eventually wiping out large portions of the Earth's animals, in particular, the dinosaurs. If this had not had happened, mammals would probably not have had the ascendancy. Dinosaurs dominated for about 400 million years, we have been dominant for about 250,000 years. We are not perfect, we just suit the era, and have come to dominate for a short time before we too become extinct, like 99.9% of all animals on Earth.
