If wings win in game 6 ...?

Pen fans, if you were at game 6, and the wings win the cup, would you cheer them for their hard work, or boo them since your team didn't win ?

PS - nice game in 5, and you have a heck of a goalie in Fleury. If the pens have a human goalie, the wings win game 5 like 8 - 2. Thanks for your team making it a good series, hope this is a yearly fight !

  1. Most likely a respectful cheer, similar to how the habs fans cheered philly when they were knocked outof the series.  That, and many of the fans would probably just leave instead of watching the cup be presented to another team.

Also, Jagr is not booed for the sole reason of our being upset at his leaving.  If you recall correctly, he insulted our city before leaving.  I think a direct quote is something like, "I'm dying alive in this city."  That is another story.

  2. yes i would cheer for them of course i would =) i would never boo for them. but i doubt the penguins will lose game 6. ;)

  3. True Pens fans are fans of the game.  We applaud sportsmanship and hard work, sacrifice and dedication.

If the Wings win the cup in Pitt, they will be loudly cheered.

EDIT: Count on it, the Wings will get a respectful cheer.  It won't blow the roof off, but it'll be appreciative and heartfelt.

  4. Wings are not going to win game 6 (or 7 for that matter) so we do not have to worry!

  5. Typically the fans cheer when the Stanley Cup is awarded... whether the home team won or lost...

  6. Pens fans boo Jagr... i'd be extremely surprised if they cheered the Wings if/when they won the cup in Pittsburgh.

  7. They will boo...sore losers. They would be chanting "OBSTRUCTION! OBSTRUCTION!"

  8. I will be there, and likely will give mild applause, but I am hoping that it doesn't come to that.  Hopefully there will be a two more games like last night.

  9. As a Wings fan I would cheer is the Pens forced a game 7 and won it.  I'd be really mad but I would cheer nonetheless.  Both teams will deserve the cup if they win it.  There is no reason not to cheer for the team that wins.

  10. yeah, about that...Pens WILL NOT loose game 6! see you at my Penguins Stanley Cup Party after we win the game 7. I am having fried breaded octobus as a dish...everyone is welcomed :)

  11. they're gonna boo...it happens all the time when your team loses...but it was a h**l of a game last night

  12. If the Red Wings have a human Goalie then the Pens get a few more goals as well. Nothing against the Wings but let's be honest about the play of both team goalies and forwards.

Anyway if I was at game 6 and the Wings won I'd still cheer for them, or just sit there and watch. I wouldn't boo them for their hard work to win. Was there for the Championship game of an independent indoor football league when my team lost and sat there to watch the trophy presentation and was kinda happy for the other team. Although if our team had switched the QBs we may have had a chance, and I was thinking that during the game. Read later he had a torn Cornea and he thought he had had a concussion(same symptoms) but wanted to keep playing. So with blurry vision he plays a terrible game and hurts the team just so he can play.

To the guy saying about the Pens booing Jagr, that is an ENTIRELY different issue then the Stanley Cup. Personally I don't boo Jagr and have a problem with the people who do. That though was because they are upset he left town, even though they were at fault. They were the ones who wouldn't let him be Jagr. So should we assume most teams would boo if the Pens won because they boo Crosby?

Actually his comment and leaving the city are connected. I'll give the short version, he was dying in the city because they kept calling him Mario Jr. They wouldn't let him be Jagr and THAT was killing him. That is also why he wanted out of Pittsburgh. The man loved the city when he started, even threw his 21st birthday party WITH the city(had the news announce where it was), but they were never going to let him leave Mario's shadow and THAT was killing him.
