  1. 'Haat day' is not practice in the cities of india but it is a very common practice in the rural region of the country.'Haat day' can also be called as a market day.

    in rural areas of the country where there is no permanent market due to the lack of customers,the sellers meet at a fix place on a given day and form a market.the villagers  from the nearby villages visit the market and purchase their requirements.the place is fixed according to the day.e.g. sunday at 'x' place,monday at 'y' place,tuesday on 'z' place and so on.

    the words 'Haat day' is generally use by north indians
