If you're a cheerleader..do you hate the stereotype?

I'm asking this cause i was recently at a party, and i was hanging out with a bunch of people. so somehow we get around to the topic or cheerleading, and this guy (who's kinda a friend of mine) goes, "cheerleaders are stupid, they're just dumb hoes screaming and jumping around." and i was sitting there, thinking, "wth?? do you even SEE some of the flips and stunts we do??" so then I say, "That's not true" and he goes "yeah? then you tell me what a group of girls are doing at the football games jumping up and down in tiny short skirts."

i hate people who are like that! I've had my fair share of them and it's so unfair to everyone who is a cheerleader... it's just cause of the movies and of how cheerleading was originally supposed to be for other sports' support (we have competition now though! completely changes it aroundd).

Well, no offense, but sometimes school cheerleaders are like that, just in it for popularity. But trust me, I'm not saying they all are, I used to cheer for school. But no one ever thinks about competitive cheerleading (which is what I do now)! We are in it for the fun and competition, and we do some pretty complicated stunts and tumbling that I would like to see them try! So to answer your question yes me (and all of my friends) are sick and tired of the stereotype!!

There are cheerleaders like that!  And what's so bad about supporting the team that's why it's called cheerleading!  So many cheerleaders are only in it for themselves and don't really care about the teams anymore!  It's so annoying! My squad was like that and it drove me nuts! Competition cheerleading is over rated.
