...Do you get ALMOST as much pleasure out of watching the other team lose as you do watching your team win?

Cause the only thing that cheers me up when the Red Sox lose is if the Yankees lose, too. It almost feels like the Red Sox won. lol.

  1. Lol I know what you mean.

Neither the Rangers or the Orioles have a specific rivalry, but I was sort of raised to hate the Yankees, so I do like it when they lose.

Not as much as my dad, though.  He almost seems happier when they lose than when his team (O's) win.  He's been really happy a lot this season lol.

Mainly, I just like it when whatever team Mark Teixeira is on loses.  I was happy a lot when he was with the Braves; not so much with the Angels.

(And here I was about to pull for the Halos in the postseason and then Teixeira came along... I don't think it'd be right for him to have a championship ring before a guy like Michael Young, who chose to stay with the Rangers even though he could've gotten more money elsewhere.)  Okay, I'm done ranting. =)

  2. I'm the exact same way! lol I watch the Cubs if they're on and I'm bored, just to hope that they'll lose.

  3. Absolutely, as a nats fan watching the mets, marlins, and phillies sweat each other for the N.L east division, especially the next 5 weeks of the season

  4. When my favorite team is 5.5 games behind their rival, you better believe I'm happy when they lose!

If my favorite team pulls ahead of them in the division, I'm more at ease, since we don't have to worry about the other Wild Card hopefuls.

  5. I love it most when they start the "Beat LA" chant and we crush them. Or when they play at Angel stadium and the unoriginal Angel fans do it. Don't they realize there LA too?

  6. I totally agree, or when the Red Sox kick the Yankees butts, or when the Yankees can't hold a lead and lose miserably.

  7. The key word is ALMOST.

I am a Yankees fan before I am a Red Sox hater. I would rather see the Yankees win before seeing the Red Sox lose.

But yes, if the Yankees lose, I feel better if the Red Sox lost. This is still true, even though the Sox aren't even leading the division.

  8. yes

  9. Well, seeing as the Reds lose more than they win,,,I have to find something else to root for. And since their rivalry with anybody isn't that strong...I have to dig a little deeper. Which really means...when ever one of my good friends' or roommates' team loses, I feel a little better (most of them are Cubs and Cardinals fans, so still in the Central) and often let them know that. :)   Go Reds! (and Brewers?)

  10. Oh yeah...I love it when the Diamondbacks lose.  I especially love it when we win and they lose.  Best thing ever.

    Go Rockies!

  11. i totally agree lol

but right now my team isnt doing very well (giants) but our rival (dodgers) is so that stinks but oh well there is always next season

  12. YES!

There's nothing better than seeing the face of a Cubs fan after their team is destroyed...

The Cubs haven't been losing much, so when they do, it makes it all the better seeing a loss.

  13. yeah same. If the red sox lose and the yankees lose too, i feel that there is still some order in the universe. But now that the yankees are out of the picture, it makes me feel even better when teams like the rays or twins lose because of our pennant/wild card race at the moment.

  14. Sometimes i do. I'll admit i had alot of pleasure when Aaron Boone hit that HR in Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS Vs The Sox after what Pedro Martinez did to Zimmer.

  15. Yes! I absolutely LOVE it when the White Sox lose, especially if we lose. At least you've really got nothing to worry about with the Yankees since they are pretty much done now =]. Now if only the White Sox would die too!! Haha just kidding. I have to admit that I am impressed with the way they are fighting just as hard as we are to take the division. I still don't like them by any means (except for Gavin Floyd), but all I can do is hope for the best and be prepared for the worst!

  16. If the two teams are in a current competition then their loss is as good as a win.

I have come to hate the Yankees so much that I don't only want them to lose, I want it to be painful.  Of course, that could be from the decades of harassment that i endured at the hands of Yankee fans when the Red Sox met that fate, as they did oh, so many tines.

  17. Yankees win = Always good. Never fails to make me at least a little happy.

Red Sox loss = kinda good. Them losing in the playoffs or in a pennant race is a lot more satisfying.

Yankees beating the Red Sox = pure, unadulterated baseball bliss! The only thing better for me would be watching the Yanks beat the Sox while in the company of a s**y lingerie-clad lady ready to serve me a warm plate of chocolate chip cookies.

  18. Yep, I love seeing the Giants lose.

There's nothing else better then that.
