If you're a minor and you're issued a citation, do you have to have a parent with you at court?

I really don't know anything about citations and tickets so could someone please help me out and tell me what would or could happen.? Thanks!

  1. Yes , in Texas at least , a youth charged with something must have one or both parents in court with them . This accomplished a number of things , but the two most important things I can think of are :

    1;  To make sure the kid is not railroaded by anyone .

    2. to make the parents aware of their kids attitude behind the wheel of a vehicle .


  2. That may vary depending on your state.

    Normally, parents do not need ot show for a traffic citation, but need to show for an arrest.
