If you're a tourist in Canada, how would you apply to become a Permanent Resident?

I'm not the one who's applying..it's someone I know..(a friend)..he's a tourist and he wants to stay here in Canada...He doesn't know how to apply neither do I. -.- . Just becoming a Permanent Resident not to get the Permanent Resident Card.

  1. You friend needs go to back to his own country & has to apply for Immigration from his country. There are some rules he has to follow & if he is a skilled worker he can qualify & successfully get the immigration. Please check the website below that explains the immigration procedure very well.


  2. in order for you to become a permanent resident, you'll have to have the permanent resident card.

    there is no way your friend will be able to stay in canada on a tourist visa while applying for a permanent resident status. he will have to go back to his home country and apply there. and it takes about 3-5 years for his application to be processed. on the process of application, go to www.cic.gc.ca
