  1. Determine the slope using rise/run... which is y2-y1/x2-x1. The slope is m.

    Now you have to determine the y intercept, which is b.

    Then you have to plug it into y=mx+b, which is probably the equation of the line you are looking for. Using one of the points, fill in the y and x values and substitute the slope for m. Then solve for b. Your line equation will look like y=(slope value)x + (y intercept value.)

    I guess I'll do an example. Say you are looking the slope of the line that passes through (6,6) and (3,3). The slope would be (6-3)/(6-3). The answer would be one. So now I have:

    y=1x+b

    Now I'll use (3,3) so I can solve for b.

    3=1(3) + b

    3=3 + b

    0=b

    So the equation would be y=1x + 0.

  2. Find the line of best fit for the points first, then plug x=0 into the equation to get the y-intercept.

    I'd explain more, but I have to log off. Srry.

    Hope this helps!!!

  3. You can do it in two ways.

    1. Drawing the graph

    2. Using the equation

    1. Drawing the graph

    All you have to do is to plot the given coordinates in the graph. See where the line crosses the y axis. That will be the y-intercept.

    2. Using the equation

    the formula for finding y intercept is y=mx+c

    Using the coordinates u first have to find the gradient (m). which is

    Y2-Y1/X2-X1

    * The x and y are the coordinates

    Next place the gradient u found (m). then keep replace the values of x and y with the coordinates given for one point. You'll find the value of c which is the y-intercept. Use the second set of coordinates to verify whether you get the same answer for the value of c.

  4. One point is for the latitude and the other is for the

    longitude. Just trace the two lines until they meet up and

    you will have found the y-intercept.
