  1. Sure. If the lightning strikes the power lines around your house, you're in trouble.


  2. Ha this question reminded me of Final Destination 3.. Man that would suck.

Actually the probability of your being injured by lightning is very small but when you are using any electrical device there is a chance you will be injured.  The most common item is the telephone (land line) that a current surge will follow the telephone line into the house and do some damage.  A tanning bed has a similar risk but many more people will be using the phone than the tanning bed.  Water also is a hazard..a swimming pool and a cast iron bathtub are good conductors.  Pool employees and tanning employees probably have orders to clear the area when there is an electrical storm.
