Do you agree?

My view that you only live once

If your not doing what you want then your not living life to its fullest.

I'm saying if you're working just to live

you're not living at all your just surviving.

Technically you are living,

but you have no life.

  1. No, I don't agree. Life is life, even if we don't enjoy it, even if we wast our time, it's still life. We have been given life and it's up to us to do something worthwhile with it.

  2. I agree. It's sad isn't it?

You work all day to pay for a house you only sleep in.

  3. I agree.  Enjoying life is the only thing that makes it worthwhile.  A laborious life dominated by misery and frustration doesn't see worth the trouble.  Unfortunately, most people are born into circumstances that dictate they do work they don't enjoy just to survive.  Oftentimes, they seem obviously unhappy or to only be able to achieve a false sort of happiness through distraction and self-deception.

  4. So true, but I do think it's different when you're working toward what you want to do you know?

If you are just working to get by, then no you're not living how you want, therefore you're not really living.

  5. I think this falls into the living and existing thinkings, like if you're not living the way you want you're just existing, right? Well I sort of agree... I mean, take a closeted g*y teen for example. If he wishes to be out of the closet, but can't because of a circumstance and is forced to stay in, becoming nothing more than a shell that wakes up, goes through the day and goes to bed the shell of a person, instead of living the open lifestyle he wants, then I consider that existing (or not living). However, if someone is not living the life they want, like a housewife that works hard and wants to live without any financial worry, but still manages to have happy, entertaining and wonderful moments, I believe that still can be considered living.

  6. A life well lived is one where you enjoyed your life a large percentage of the time.  The decisions you make now impact the obtainable quality that will be available to you 10 years from now and more.

Loving what you do is easy.

Getting paid for what you love to do ... that's the tricky part.

  7. i totally agree with you.

i myself am living my life, just for the sake of living. well, i wont say that im sad, but im not very happy either!. sigh! :|

  8. Yeah but I;m young so it's still not a problem. Surving is still living. even if you're not living your dream, then live your present life and try to achieve the life you want. That's living for me.

I think that if I achive my dream, I will not want to stay there too long and try another new thing. lol. Humans can never be contented.

  9. Most people are so caught up in finding the things that they are good at that they miss the enjoyment of other activities and endeavors. I think your idea is along the right path and agree 90%. Most people aren't living because they are doing something they love so much for money or personal gain that they lose the interest and love for it.

Just a little food for thought

  10. Whew! Having two or more lives would be nice; in one of them one might learn how to spell or to at least use the spell checker.

There are many days when my life does not go exactly the way I want it to, but I am still living now and it  is illogical to assume that I died on those days  and came back to life on days that went the way I  wanted them to.

  11. the definition of living have different meaning to different people, every one want their life to be according to their plan, but then, if every thing is planed out, THEN you have no life. You know what they say, life is full of surprises, its not the way you live life that affects you, but how you see things in life that affect you. some people see life as a competition, while others are happy with what they have. the people who compares everything will never really live, because there's always some one that's doing better.

What you said is unfair to some people, say some one want to achieve the goal of retiring when they are fifty, but in order to do so, they have to work a high paying job they do not like one bit.  Would you say they are not  living? because they are living, they have motivation,  and living life needs motivation.

  12. yes and no; yes because u save money sou can pay for a house for dates for love for music for hobbies. no because u might b a workoholic

  13. You can't always get what you want.
