I"ve stayed for 1 year and 1/2, and although it was advertised to be a Scanning project all we do is clean, dust, vacuum and move boxes.. This was not what i signed up for and i always question why the dumb boss makes us clean a dirty house , clean toilets etc.

The only reason i've stayed this long is cause I need money and prior to this my job search was failing badly. But the longer i stay the more i question why i'm here.

I dont even use any of the computer skills i have and we dont do anything that requires much brainwork.

Also because of this job, i got my shoulder injured badly and my knee too(i'm didn't tell but i'm fine now, just with pain and abnormalities but whatever). now i have permanent injuries and it's not even from a Job i liked.

I dont know how to quit though, if i quit im jobless and won't hav emoney. I'm debt and i need to make monthly payments: Rent, school loans, car payments.

I've had some co-workers that got better jobs elsewhere after a while of working here. But i dont know how they did it. Plus they were studying in some technical schools and they new they have JObs guranteed upon graduation, that's how one of my coworkers managed to switch jobs.

I'm 28 male. thnks

  1. if you are that unhappy you need to look for another job.  but don't quit until you find one.  don't put yourself in financial difficulty and add that to your stress.  life is too short to go through it unhappy.

  2. Well I'm sure your job description has the famous line as "performs other duties as requested".  You could contact the state to have them audit you, course you want to do this anonymously.  But more realistically why aren't you looking for a job while you working here.  This doesn't sound like the greatest job, your sure unhappy, and it's defiantly not the job that was presented to you when you hired in.  I would say to quit, but if you need the money, just start applying for other jobs while your working here, something will come along.

  3. are you looking for other jobs?  look for other jobs while at this one. bummer about your injury tho.... like first post said... i bet the job desc. said "other duties as requested," etc. so technically you did sign up for what you're doing. unfortunately....

and also... if you get an interview at another place, i suggest you don't bad-mouth your current employer cuz they won't like that - they'll think you're likely to bad-mouth them.  once you're employed and gained their confidence you can let them know how happy you are to be working there cuz the other job was a nightmare. hope all works out!

  4. Okay I understand your situation. What u do is you sit down and talk to the manager. U tell him/her that u aren't exactly happy with what they are paying you for. If u don't feel comfortable saying that u can always say u have found a better paying job. Once u quit, go online and file for unemployment. My bf have the web address, but go to google and search unployment, and they ask for all your previous wrk info..be honest. They will send u like 700 dollars in a check once a month or every 2 weeks. Then once u finish that u can work where I work. I work for convergys..they are an inbound calling center for at&t. They are hiring and if u don't have any felonys them you already have the job. For convergys just go to www.convergys.com and fill out the application. I hope I helped u..oh yeah and yo paychecks will be PHAT!!! Good Luck
