If you've been to Amsterdam or Madrid or both please tell me your experience.?

I'm going to try and go to Amsterdam and Madrid for my annual holiday and I was wondering what people thought if people liked it when they went or what they did etc. Thanks

I haven't been to Madrid been to a several other places all over Spain.. Including Bilbao in Basque country and Barcelona Catalan.. I love Spain I want to move there permanatly working on learning Spanish at the moment. So I would recommend pretty much anywhere in Spain.. I love the culture the food and met lots of very nice people there.

Amsterdam I like too the Dutch have such a great dead pan kind of humour and the Infrastructure public transport etc is so good in comparison to the UK its quite embarrassing. Amsterdam has tonnes of cultural attractions and tonnes of variety in terms going out, clubbing eating etc.. It's also basically the VICE city of europe.. not to say it is seedy it's pretty much all legal apart from "hard drugs".. The Red light district is just bizarre the first time you visit.. You expect something really dodgy but its more of a tourist attraction.. You will see families with little kids strolling around.. Queues of people on organised tours etc..

I'd say Amsterdam is an advertisemet for the success of liberalism.. It's a wonderful city to just roam around in on a sunny day hoping on trams.. Strolling through vondelpark the musesums.. and of course anything else you want to do. Don't take pictures of prostitutes though they don't like that.
