  1. ITS REALLY LOUD WHEN THE CARS COME BY ON YOUR SIDE, AND IN TALLADEGA IT LASTED ABOUT 3 1/2 HOURS. IT REALLY DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU ARE. IF IT IS IN DOVER IT IS GOING TO BE A SHORT TRACK. GOOD LUCK WITH WATCHING THAT. I HATE SHORT TRACKS. LOL!

  2. Its a half mile louder than Atlanta !! And its pretty loud !

  3. I've been to 1 Sprint Cup (Winston Cup at the time) race at Michigan and 3 at Indianapolis.  I've also been to the Nascar truck race and IRL races at Kentucky Speedway.  Sprint Cup races are usually about 3-4 hours.  It is loud, but not as loud as, say, a hard rock concert.  You might want to bring a pair of cheap earplugs just in case.

How much of the race you can see depends on where you sit and how big the track is.  Nascar is one of the few events where sitting up high can sometimes be better than sitting close.  At Dover, you can probably see most, if not all, of the track from any seat.  At bigger tracks like Indy and Talladega, you can't see all the way around the track, especially if you sit down low.

  4. I went to the texas race this year on april 6th, and im going again on november 2nd to the dickes 500 race, Its a BLAST, such an adrenaline rush when the green flag waves and about 5 laps into the race you start to smell the fuel burning off and oh my gosh its the best smell ever. Your seats will rumble as the pack races by you its alot of fun, best sporting event imo

  5. Have been to Daytona twice, Talledega twice. I was not a fan of NASCAR until I went to the races.. Talking about Days of Thunder! So much more exciting to see it in person. Remember to do this.. never look straight on as you will only see a blur.. look to the left or right.. The sound and the excitement is fantastic! And the build-up to the race is my fav.. I just love to hear that National Anthem and the jets fly over! Makes my heart sing. You enjoy ya heah! :) Oh and once you get into the race.. it doesn't matter how long it takes.. time flies when you are in that mode.

  6. 3-5 hours, depending on weather conditions and cautions..it is a RUSH, THRILL, something you will never forget..

    have Fun and Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. I went to a Vegas race by myself. Felt kind of like a geek. But after getting to my seat, it took maybe 5 minutes and I had 10 friends. The atmosphere is nothing short of electric. I've been to many major sporting events and have never felt comraderie like I did there. It felt like a huge family function. When the cars go by you don't just here them, you literally feel them. What a rush. Get there early and check out all of the merchants and exhibits. If you stay a little while after the race you can get tremendous deals on merchandise as they would rather sell low than take it all back home with them. I do recommend getting a scanner as it can be a bit challenging to figure out exactly what's happening on the track. Beers, sodas, and food can be expensive but you can bring a cooler if you want. In my opinion, NASCAR is the greatest show on earth. Yeeee Haaa! ENJOY.

  8. It's great! Do everything you can, see everthing you can.

  9. Get there early to tailgate.  Nothing like some bbq, beer, beer, and more beer..  OHHH and make sure you cooler is full before you go in.

  10. the race itself was a blast. i went to martinsville speedway. i loved it,its exciting, loud, and something you will never forget

  11. Long & orgasmic

  12. LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as h**l but fun

Dover is about 3 1/2 to 4 hours roughly

  13. Well depends,

if your sitting on the front row , then its a  loud blur , the car zooms by and your like wow , if your higher up it is still very loud but you can tell whats going on, on the back stretch , and its still a blast. the cautions arnt very fun because it seems like it takes forever to get back to racing , but when the restart happens everyone stands on their feet and it is awesome. their are alot of interesting looking people at the event, try to get into the infield if you can , its weirdo city but you wont find better people anywhere else, unless you insult their driver,

    Its a blast,

    youll have a great time

  14. I've only been to the Dover track, but WOW what an experience.  To actually "feel" the cars go past, the loud roar of the engines, the smell of rubber burning.  Got there 4 hours before the race to check everything out, about 4 hours for the race, 4 hours to get out of the parking lot, and finally made it home...lol...the ride home has been a lot quicker since I found a new place to park...Oh yea, and the screaming drunk fans all around me are hilarious.   There'a a downside to everything.

  15. anywhere from 3-5 hrs for the race...but go all day I mean early it is an experience unlike any other sporting event  walking around outside the track is a sub culture all to its own...we arrived early for the martinsville race  set up the truck grilled and met all kinds of nice and interesting people  traded stories played games just enjoyed it then got to see a race..its awesome  do all you can  but just live in the moment with it..

  16. My husband went and he said that what he missed (as compared to watching on t.v.) was that he couldn't see the whole race from where he was sitting, so his view of the race wasn't as good.  (I don't remember which track he went to...).

  17. Typical race length is 3-4 hours.

It is not too loud.  I have never worn earplugs.  The only time the noise bothered me was last weekend, because I was sitting under the suites.  Well, because you are closed in except for in front of you (wall behind you, ceiling, etc...), the sound bounces around a lot and makes it MUCH louder.

And, NOTHING compares to seeing a race live.  It is SO much fun!!  Just the whole experience and atmosphere.  Plus, the fact that you can see all of the cars racing, not just the leader or Dale Jr like the TV tends to show.  You can see who is fast and where their car is good.  It's great!

  18. I've been to the Dover track which i'm guessing your goin to tomorrow lots of times and you'll have a great time.

  19. been to richmond 7 times and charlotte once it's way different than watching on tv more exciting it gets very loud i'd either bring ear-plugs or rent a track scanner to help w/ the noise. usually about 3 hours get there early tailgate drink some beer and have a good time.

yeah richmond's 14 weeks away and counting!!!

  20. It's a 4 hour RUSH! (nicely loud)

  21. it's splendiferously org@$mic, then you need a cigarette.  it's an experience that you will never forget, for good or for bad.  i went to my first races in vegas, and sat up high, down low, and even in the infield bleachers once.

the most amazing effect for me was trying to focus on a pack of cars as they shot by, during which time the rest of the world was blurry.  if i focussed on the stands, the cars were blurry.  i never could focus on both at once.  i used to pay good money and risk arrest for that feeling, but i could get it legally just by going to the races!!!
