If you've been watching the olympics, and Michael Phelps; nobody ever said anything about his dad?

I always see the mum and the sisters, but never the dad! I even went online, and there's nothing about him other than he's a police officer! I know the parents are divorced, but it's just weird. I hope he's happy for his son... Does anyone know anything... It's sad that he's not in China cheering on his son!

phelps's parents are divorced and the family and his father dont talk much. so he's been raised by his mom and sister.. but his father and michael do talk to each other a lot on the phone  and his father is very proud of michael

Michael Phelps father left when he was 7 yrs. old and its been him his sisters and mother ever since. He and his mother are very close.

His father left the family when he was young, I think around 6 or something. So he's been raised by his mother.

well whatever it is, it is what it is. Micheal Phelps seem not to have a problem with anything right now. so thats what counts.
