I had chicken pox when I was younger, and I've heard that VZV and HSV 1/2 are related. I have antibodies for VZV (through contraction) but none for HSV 1/2 (found out through test). If you've acquired chicken pox, does it protect in any way at all from hsv 1/2? In any way at all?

  1. i had chicken pocks as a kid as well and ended up with HSV1 on my mouth and genitals as well as HSV2 on my genitals. so i don't believe in the immunity theories.

  2. Had CP as a child. Have HSV2 as an adult. No immunity
