If you've had or have DIRECT TV, how is/was your experience with them?

I'm terrified they're going to load me down with hidden fees!!! $20 for sign up just seems way to be good to be true.... then only 40 dollars a month for 200 channels? WHAT?! This has got to be a trick...

I am happy with them, however thier customer service suck if you call them.  Remember that the $40 for all the channels sounds right but there won't be any HD channels that is extra, there are no movie channels except IFC, those are all extra the 200 channels also include the music channels hosted by XM (which you will not get every one unless you pay extra but you get enough of them to be satasfied with.  Just make sure you know what you are getting before hand and if there will be an increase after the first year.  Oh yea you will have to probably pay 10 bucks a month for the lease of the reciever.  But installation is Free!

i have direct tv and i like them but dish network has better deals but you have to put alot more money down so i went with direct tv and its not no hidden fees you do have to pay for extra boxes in other rooms if you dont wont all the tv to run off one box but i dont have no problems with them i pay 69.00 a month for the basic and regular tv channels

Hmmmmm you  might want to check and see if that's a promotional price that may go up at a later date.  Below I have listed the current packages as well as pricing and I do not see one for 200 channels at $40.  Also, keep in mind that you will pay $4.99 for every leased or purchased receivers.  Other than that there are NO hidden charges as I just checked my bill to see.

Although I imagine that price may go up a bit I love my DirectTV and I wouldn't give it up for anything.  I love the programming but I did want you to have honest info.

go on-line and look far into it, but a friend my had direct TV. before she move and it was great.  You do get more channels than cable for the money.  Or you can call them up and ask what will be the hold cost.  There is a installation fee.
