....I could really use your help. We are going for 3 full days not counting check in/check out days. It's just me and hubby celebrating our 25th anniversary. We're trying to do just carry on bags so my question is: What does the hotel provide? Do I need to bring my own shampoo/conditioner? Do they have an iron? Toothpaste? What I'm really trying to figure out is if I can get away with just packing my clothes and a couple of disposable razors. Also, I straighten my hair; will I be able to get a straightening iron through security? We also have reservations at the Grand Floridian/Narcoosies for our anniversary dinner, any tips? Thanks for any help and tips you can provide!

  1. The hotel provides shampoo, conditioner and soap and also an iron and ironing board.  They don't provide toothpaste, but you can purchase a travel size (3 oz. or less) toothpaste at Target or a drug store.  Your hair straightener will have no problem getting thru security, but the disposable razors will!!  They are razors after all!  You'll be able to purchase these at the resort gift/convience shop.  For your anniversary dinner, you'll want to dress up (which I'm sure you were going to do anyways) because of the dress codes at the restaurant.

You'll have so much fun, and Happy Anniversary!  :o)

  2. I was there in July for my FIRST anniversary :)  They provide soap, face wash, conditioner, and shampoo and the quality is actually decent!  Didn't see toothpaste in the room, but I'm sure you could ask for it from the front desk and pretend you forgot it - or just squeeze it in!  Not sure about security as we drove down.  Request a room in the Ranchos section as it is not near any pools that tend to stay open all night long.  If you have an extra night with no dinner planned you should definitely do the Luau at the Polynesian Resort!  It was the BEST dinner I've had in a long time.  We did Coral Reef in Epcot as our anniversary dinner and loved it.  I'm sure you'll like Narcoosies as well.  The Almond Crusted Cheesecake is a must!!! On a side note, Soarin' at Epcot has become my favorite ride.  You have to try it out at least once! We did it 5 times the day they were there.  Also, www.allears.net is a great resource!!  Enjoy your trip and Happy Anniversary! :)

  3. the hotel has those really small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and a big bar of soap. i would adise bringing your own shampoo and conditioner and using disney's soap. remember any liquids, gels, creams, lotions all have to contain 3 ounces or less in a 3 ounce or less container and must be put in a 1 quart sized clear zip top baggie and you can only have one baggie per person.

    they don't provide toothpaste.

yes there is an iron and ironing board in every room.

yes you will be able to bring a hair straightener on the plane.

it just goes though the x-ray machine and as long as security doesn't find a bomb attached to it its fine. LOL . i bring mine everywhere.

and really no tips for dinner. just get there about 15 minutes ahead of your reservation and HAVE AN AWESOME TIME!

  4. 1. Narcossie's is a great choice.  Hint: dress up a little for that.

    2.  Re Coronado Springs, it's a great place.  It will have an iron and shampoo conditioner.  You can buy at the hotel toothpaste--and razors, for that matter.  Your straightening iron will go through security fine.

    3.  Finally, for more details on what you get at WDW's moderate resorts, see this page: http://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-...     For distinctions between Coronado Springs and the other Disney World resorts, see this one:  http://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-...

Hope this helps and have a great trip!  Dave
