how do you suppose the plumbing is designed so that there is not an enormous impact of sewage arriving at the basement level?

I wonder if the pipelines carrrying the sewage would be a little twisted to reduce the speed,because  by doing this, a part of kinetic energy is converted into potential energy & consequently if the pipe is twisted,it should be mabe wide too to avoid the TRAFFIC JAM !

Its just my idea.
