  1. Go to a Doctor and get a medical statement that you suffer from Claustrophobia it works all the time, I did it twice and then the county labelled my records as D.N.R. (do not request for jury duty)

    .

  2. Nothing will happen if you don't answer.  However, especially if it is a Federal Summons you could legally go to jail - no passing GO.  But, I have never heard of anyone that happened to and my friends throw them in the trash.

  3. Depends on the county.  In Fresno county (california), the judges are starting to send out the sheriff to personally serve you and warn you that you'd better show up.  The charge is usually contempt.  You should be able to call up or annotate on the form that it would be a financial hardship if you miss work, but don't be surprised if the judge sends the sheriff anyway to ask you a few questions.

  4. You can send them a letter saying you are under financial hardship and are not able to miss work.  Worked for friends I know...

  5. Just do your duty and get it out of the way.

Depending on where you live, you might also get compensated for lost wages

  6. In California they will ultimately ticket you for $2000. However, usually they give you a chance to just do your jury duty.

It's not a good idea to mess with the court.

  7. if you don't want to go just say that your racist.  and they'll never bug you again.
