  1. oh my god you are taking the wee wee right?

  2. Theory test is done at the test centre, it is an exam. The driving test is done in the car on the road. DVLA is the place in Swansea that issues driving licences and puts the endorsements and points on your licence and the provisional is a type of licence you have before you pass your test and then qualify for a FULL licence.

  3. The theory is a number of questions regarding the Law and rules about driving. They are multiple choice questions. Usually no trick questions.  Out of 4 poss answers, one will be very wrong, one wrong and maybe one that could be right.

Many ppl find it fairly easy because it's commonsense.

The driving test is done while you driving next to an inspector and you instructor in the back seat.  It can be very nerve wrecking and you can usually succeed after 1 or 2 trys.

  4. Here's a beauty.

A driving test is the practical test of driving competency.   An examiner ( the person that will be sitting next to you in the front of the vehicle)  in a bright yellow jacket will meet you in the test centre ( the place where you start from).  He/she will then ask you to sign a declaration ( nothing to do with the Queen) for insurance to the vehicle ( the car that you will be using for your test).  He will look at your provisional driving licence ( green card / paper part which will have your name/address d.o.b (date of birth), your picture of your face.) after checking he will then ask you to lead to your car.  After that it is pretty straightforward.

The theory part of your driving test is the first test you take. You will attend a building with a series of computers inside and some people who will watch over you so that you don't cheat.  The theory is in two parts ( both taken on the same day) the theory multiple choice questions ( 4 answers similar to the real answer but there is only one answer)  You might get 2 or 3 questions similar to each other but worded differently. Then after that usually 45minutes ( time taken to complete the questions) you will have the hazard perception test.  You will use the computer mouse ( a pointing device) to show that you have seen the hazard and the developing hazard.  You will be marked (by the computer) on how well you do.  Once completed you then go to the people behind a desk and get your certificate ( if you pass) or a letter telling you where you went wrong.

Finally, . what is the difference between DVLA and provisional.  Well apart from the SPELLING  there is a big difference.  First DVLA is department of vehicle licencing authority ( nothing to do with your driving test by the way, this is organised by the D.S.A  can you work out what the initials stand for ?  NO! OK, Driving Standards Agency..... ) now the difficult part of your question is "provisional".  I take it you're talking about your provisional driving licence.  You received one of these (once you apply for it of course) from the DVLA (remember them?) It will be green in colour, with a Red L in the corner and this allows you to drive a car under full instruction from another full licence holder ( someone who has passed a driving test) preferably someone like me ( driving instructor, someone who gives instruction in the art of driving).  Please do not think you are allowed to drive any vehicle without someone beside you.  Not allowed.  Now you will be able to apply for your provisional in a few years time at the age of 17, (unless you have full disability allowance you can apply and learn at 16)  So what I suggest you do is finish your primary school, go to secondary and on the morning of your 17th birthday go out and learn to drive.   On that morning can you come back on here and  tell everyone on here when and where you are going..... Thank you.

  5. Driving test is the practical test you take in the car

Theory is written test you need to pass before you can take practical test.

DVLA is company who deals with registration of licences, car details

and finally provisional licence is licence you need to have before you can take lessons.  When you pass your test you will send away your provisional licence and get back a "full" licence to enable you to drive legally.

  6. One is a written test.

The other is the actually road test.

    DVLA =

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driver_and_...

Provisional is probably the temporary permit you get after the written test (theory) so you can practice with an instructor.

    Good Luck...

  7. The theory test consists of two parts, it's done on a touch screen computer, the first part is a set of 35 questions (i think) they are multiple choice and are on various different topics, stuff like what road signs mean, what to do when you approach roundabouts, etc. you need to get 30 of them right.

The second half is hazard perception where it shows you a video clip as if you were driving a car, you have to touch the screen whenever you see a hazard, things like cars pulling out, cyclists on the road, kids playing, it's just to test to see if you can spot anything that when driving for real could cause accidents. you have to pass the theory before you can do the driving test.

The actual driving test lasts for approx an hour, first you answer two questions about the vehicle, eg. how do you test if your brake lights are working? then you do the driving part with an instructor who gives you instructions on which way to go and watches every move you make, you also have to do two things like a turn in the road or reversing round a corner, then you go back to the centre and they tell you if you have passed or failed.

The provisional is the licence you have before you pass the driving test, you have to have this before you can learn to drive

DVLA is the company that you get your licence's from

  8. The difference is, the theory test is done on a touch PC screen, you are given plenty of time to think about the answers, the thing you should remember is to take your time and think about the answer you are about to give. A driving test is completely different, this is when you go out with a Driving Examiner in your own car or a driving schools car and prove to the Examiner that you are ready to go out on the road on your own, make sure you are ready before booking your driving test. A provisional licence only allows you to drive a car while there is a full driving licence holder with you. I am an Ex-Driving examiner so if there is any way I can help you please come back to me.

  9. Driving test is what you take in a car the theory is at a computer where they give you questions

the DVLA is the place you send for your licence but when you are learning you have a provisional which is green but when you pass you send to the DVLA again and get a full licence which is pink so you swap you green one for a pink one!

  10. The test is the actual driving on the road, the theory is the reading & answering of the written questions on paper. DVLA is the Department of Vehicle and Licencing Authority, provisional is the first licence before you have passed your test.

  11. hahaha all i kno is dont drive drunk or mike will kick ur ***

  12. The driving test is the practical test in which you drive whilst an examiner grades you. The theory is a test on computer testing your knowledge of the highway code. The theory must be passed before the practical test can be taken. The DVLA is the governing body which controls all test procedures and provisional licence is ythe licence you need to be able to learn to drive. You cannot exceed 45mph and alway need a qualified driver of at least 3 years beside you. When you pass your practical test this will be sent away for a full driving licence

  13. Theory test is done at a desk, to check that you understand the theory behind driving - and you have to pass this prior to taking your driving test.

Driving test - is when you are out on the road, proving that you have safe control of a car.

Provisional - is the licence you get before you pass these tests, and you should always have a full licence driver with you when you drive a car (It must be an established driver)

DVLA - is the company that issues 'things' to do with driving or your car - ie your licenses, and your road tax.
