  1. 1. I was born there

    2. Yes especially Vatican City and Palermo's lovely marinas

    3. It's very cultural. Plenty of fashion and design. Unfortunately it rains quite a lot around certain ares of the country. Great sea fishing.

    4. I've been to Rome, Palermo, Genoa, Trapani, Agrigento, Modica, Catania, Siracusa, Reggio di Calabria, Napoli, Bari, Milan, and Florence.

    5. Yes I was

    6. Yes it is.

    7. I am there right now at my parent's house.

    8. No it is either France or Italy that is the birth of art, but I'd say it's more likely that Italy is is.

    9. Shopping or Fishing

    10. Many things have happened to me over the years. Very strange things. One being I got lost out at sea once.

    -edit-

This fact about the cities is true. Italian cities have just about as much or or a little more or less crime than any regular city. I wouldn't say they keep their cities dirty. That's a little to broad and judgemental a statement to make, I think. Although if your from the US I'd say that most Italian cities are better than most American cities as far as crime goes.

  2. I have been to Italy twice (june 2005 and june 2007).  I have been to Milan, Venice, Florence, Rome, Sorrento, Capri, Naples, Assisi, and Verona.  Milan is like any big city in Europe a lil too crazy for me.  Venice is super expensive and really once you have been once it is pretty boring the second time.  Also they have the new decency police who are very rude and aren't friendly towards tourist at all.  Florence is a beautiful city with so much rich history and not to mention fantastic leather goods and shopping.  Rome is also a great city with so much to see and do.  Spend several days there if you go.  Make sure to see The Vatican, Colusseum, Spanish Steps, and the Roman Forum.  Sorrento and Capri are gorgeous seaside getaways.  The beaches have rocks but the water is fantastic.  Verona is a nice old city and you can see a great roman arena and the house of juliet.  Certain parts of Italy are beautiful.  My favorite was the Tuscan region and the coast.  I have visited twice, but probably won't go again because I have seen most of it.  Italy to me is probably the birth of art.  The best thing to me is gelato! An odd thing was the hotel in florence had a brothel right next door.

  3. 1. When Did you Go to Italy?

The 1st time was for Christmas of 1979.

    2.Did you Enjoy the Sites?

I lived (and studied) in a small rural village... And totally enjoyed it.

3.What Are some Pros & Cons about Italy?

    Cons:

+The cities are dirty - many Italians keep their cities dirty. Dog poo and grafitti everywhere.

    +Too much traffic

+An espresso now costs one Euro

+Sales tax is 20% and taxes in general are too high.

+Too much political fighting - there always seems to be political unstability.

    Pros:

+The Italians are basically a good people and often willing to help you (as a tourist)

+The transit system is much better than in the US (even though the Italians complain about it)

+Medical care is available to everyone

+The language is wonderful (but difficult even for some of the natives!)

+Italy has eveything you could ever want from life

    4. Where in Italy did you Go?

I've lived in Friuli (my first love), Lombardy, Veneto and Sicily.

    5. Where you Fascinated by the Sites?

Yes, but was more fasinated by the sites once I studied up on them.

    6. Is Italy As beautiful as told?

    Beauty is in the eye......

    7.Would you Ever Visit Again?

... and again and again and again........

8.Would you consider Italy the birth of Art?

No, not at all. I'm sure you know that there are cultures much older than the Romans. And Italy as a nation is younger than the US...

    9. Whats the Best thing about Italy?

    The life style.

    10. Did Anything Odd Happen to you while Visiting?

Not really although the mistakes I make when speaking are pretty funny (even I laugh!).

  4. 1.  Been to Italy 9 times --- I was born in Sicily and still have alot of family there.

    2.  Yes, I did.

    3.  Cons:  People not waiting there turn in line.

The current exchange rate --- the Euro is killing me.

    Dirty Cities.

    The constant political bickering.

    Rude service from airline employees.

Pros:  The people --- especially my family.

    The food, wine, GELATO!!!

    The way of life.

The love of family and friends.

    The great climate.

    THE SHOES!!!!

    4.  All over Sicily.

    5.  Walking down any street is amazing.  The architecture, attention to detail, the people watching.

    6.  It is beautiful and then some.

    7.  I am going again this August and I'm counting the days.

    8.  I not sure if it is the birthplace but Italians did take it to the next level and raised the standard of excellence.

    9.  Being with family, enjoying a great, simple meal, the endless conversations over espressos --- to many to mention.

    10.  Every time I go there I experience new things but nothing odd.

    Hope this helps.

    8. ...mmh it depends by what age you mean...

    9. Weather, food, and girls!

    10. ehm....

Excuse me for eventual mistakes, I'm Italian.

  6. Went to Italy 2 years ago from the U.S. and we enjoyed the sites very much.  We went to Florence, Pisa, and Rome.

In Florence a must see is David, Pisa the tower and the church.

We spent 3 days in Rome and couldn't see all the great sites.  The Vatican is a must, Colosseum is a must, just walking the streets and eating in outside cafe is a must.  Go to the Spanish steps and throw a coin in.

The most beautiful art work in the world is in Rome.  Just watch out for pick pockets in Pisa. We would go back!
