  1. Answer is 4.

    You always go with the lowest significant figure.

    So adding the 2 numbers will equal 456.2.

    Reason being is that the "fifth" figure for 432.2 is unknown, so it wouldn't be accurate/reliable to use 5 figures in the end.

    It also would depend on what level math your were doing.  For elementary math, you'll use 5 figures because they'll be focused on teaching you addition.  However, for more advanced math where they teach the significance of "significant numbers", it'll be 4.  If you're in college and writing down numbers, particularly for measurements in labs, you better use the proper significant numbers or you'll get points knocked off.
