  1. NO. In no circumstances can the mother receive money for relinquishing her child.

  2. For a LEGAL ADOPTION, the only person who is paid is the attorney for the filing of papers and such.  You wouldn't actually pay the birth parents.  That's kinda like selling a kid on the black market, under the table and yeah, as far as I know that is illegal... thankfully.

  3. Paying someone for their baby is called baby buying.

Accepting money for your baby is called baby selling.

    They are both illegal.

  4. no that's illegal.  but the legal way of paying biological parents is their expenses during the pregnancy.  basically you pay a portion of any living expense, medical, rent, utilities, etc...many states have a limit on how much you can pay for these expenses as an adoptive parent and some states do not allow for it at all.  it falls into a very shady area of baby selling is why some states do not allow for it.  if you are adopting through a relative it's up to the biological mother to decide if she needs any living expenses to help while pregnant.  you also can be responsible for any couseling she might have or want about the adoption, i highly suggest finding an attorney even or especially if it's a relative.  and you'll also still have to pay for a home study in most states.

  5. No, whether they adopt through an agency, attourney or on their own, the expectant mother cannot be paid for relinquishing her child. It would still be "baby selling", and is illegal.

  6. No, not legally. It is illegal to sell a baby, and that is what that would be.

Also see my long answer to your other version of this question. Why did you ask it twice? Did you think the answer would be different?

  7. I would think that would be entirely left up to the people adopting if they were going to pay something. But there would need to have lawyers involved in the adoption process so all(adoptive parents AND Birth parents) rights are protected!! The most important thing in adoption is the child and their needs. So no amount money should come above this need.

  8. No

  9. No, this is illegal.  You pay for the hospital, dr's bills...after care...etc.  But nothing personal.
