  1. It depends. Most of the time the child comes named. But if it is a new born there is a chance it doesn't have a name and you can name it

  2. Usually the birth parents will name them

  3. Depends on the circumstances and the child's age. Some babies are given up at birth without a name. If the child is older they will of course have a name.

  4. If they are just a baby then, I believe that you can re-name them, but you have to do it legally.  If they are older and will answer by their name then they will be named.  Children are not made by an assembly line where you can order them the way you want them.

  5. If it is a child that has been in foster care or an orphanage then the child will have been given a name either by their birth parents or their carers. The only circumstance in which a baby will be adopted without a name is when the adoptive parents have custody of the child from the minute it is born.

You can also rename a child once they have been adopted.

  6. It depends on how old they are.  Sometimes the parents have already named them, sometimes not.  Some people know they are adopting before the baby is born and the adoptive parents get to pick out the name.  If you are adopting a baby from China you can change their name when you adopt them.  If it is an older child it might be better for them if you don't change their name.

  7. It depends. If it's a new born baby and you are there at the moment to take the baby, I guess you could name him / her. But if the child is about one or older, they usually have names that you may change if you want. Keep in mind older adopted children. They may want to keep their names. It is the name they have been called for their life.

  8. When you adopt a child, they generally have names, however you ARE allowed to change the names if you so desire.

  9. pre-name lol. it depends i guess but i think they would all have names just cuz even if their parents died @ their birth and was not given  a name i guess the agency would give them a generic name. if thats the case i would re name if they were still babies or if they had cruel names like 'tula does the hula' or lemonjello/ orangejello

    pre-name lol

  10. well it depends what age the child is when you adopt them i suppose.

i was adopted when i was 2 years old and had the name my birth parents gave me; then when i was adopted my parents changed my name. my birth name is now my middle name.

i suppose you have to consider the age of the child and also whether you think it would emotionally damage the child by making them adjust to too much at the same time. remember, adoption is a hugely confusing and scary time for a child. i know its very exciting for the adoptive parents, but please don't forget how difficult it may be for the child.
