Question:

If you already had a coma, can you get it again?

my friend recently became in a road-side highway accident and she just woke up 2 weeks and 3 days later. But now i'm worried that it might not just be a... "calm" thing, like it might be like a... i guess a cold probably. like cold keeps coming back; so please help.

  1. yes of course, but i guess it would have to be for something more severe and depending on the person.

    I know  ofa woman who was in a coma for i think 20 yrs she woke up and actually met her son who she last saw when he was an infant!!! , so of course he nvr knew his mom. And she was free from acoma for about 3 days and she fell back into it unfourtunaetly.

    It depnds especially if tehres damage to the brain and spinal cord etc


  2. a coma is not like a cold, there must be an influencing factor for that to happen such as her accident or some type of illness.  

  3. A cold is caused by a virus.  And colds don't "keep coming back".  It's a different virus or a variant (mutation) of the same virus, which may as well be a different virus.  

    Comas may be medically induced or can come about secondary to brain trauma or active dying.  Certain disease conditions can also bring about coma.  You don't "have" a coma and you don't "get" a coma.

    Unless your friend finds herself in one of the situations I've named above, it won't happen again.
