  1. YES and the longer it is overdue the more it harms your credit score.  Pay it up to date quickly and try not to be late again.  Missing a monthly payment can lower your score by as much as 35 points.

  2. It depends on the type of account and the reporting practices of the account holder.

    If it is a credit card company, vehicle loan, or a student loan lender, then it probably will (although some student loan lenders will not report you until you are 60 days late).

    If it is a utility bill or cell phone bill, then probably not.

    Still, pay your bills though.
