If you are Black or mixed race and were not born in Africa, or your parents weren't?

do you still consider yourself an African American, or just an American?

Why don't most people who's mother or father who were born in Australia or Ireland call themselves Australian American, or Irish American?

  1. My neice is half white and half black and she is considered african american. And her dad wasn't from africa. mexicans who weren't born in mexico are still mexicans. It's just were they more or less originated from. Her family has been in Georgia for generations. But still african american.


  2. because black people are the priviledged race of America with affirmative action and racial quotas on their side

    The race issues in America at the moment are mostly "black and white" and other heritages such as Irish American, Italian american and such are put in the "white basket" if you know what I mean

    Why do people keep making such a big deal about this silly issue?  When did black people suddenly become so popular?
