I wouldn't let anyone near me with hot wax except a qualified experienced professional beauty therapist. If the mother is such a professional, then fine - it's got nothing to do with her being his mother. Otherwise, go to a salon and get someone who knows what they are doing to do the job.

My mother's not a beautician and she lives 200 miles away, so I go to a salon.
