  5. Were you in a foreign country when you were arrested for a DUI?  Sure other countries will quickly get rid of those who commit infractions.  If you think the US deports its own residents, I'm sorry to say we no longer have a large, isolated island like Australia to do that any longer.

    Actually it would take more than a DUI, unless the DUI was kind of like the straw that broke the camels back.

    But legal residents can be deported.

    EDIT: I think something a lot of these posters don't understand is that just because you are a resident does not mean that you are a citizen. Obviously citizens can not get deported but residents can be.

  7. You cannot be deported if you are a resident. Where would you be deported to?

  8. You'd have to do some pretty serious stuff to get deported as a citizen.

    A DUI would not be one of them.
