  1. Absolutely, the 100 mile radius only pertains to the requirement for a CDL driver to have to fill out a log book.


  2. If you don't need a log book, the rule does not apply.

  3. if you are within 100 air mile radius, and home everynight, you do not need a log book. BUT the company you work for must keep accurate time records for the past 6 months of your time driving a commercial vehicle.  Thus you would still fall under the 60/70 hour rule as well as all the others with limited exception. (allowed 1 16 hour day/week etc.)

    Most truckers believe that because they do not need a log book, they are free to drive as long as they want.

    Can be an expensive  lesson.
