  1. NO I CANNOT TAKE TO MY HOME. RULE IS A RULE EVEN FOR A FOOL.


  2. In general, no. You leave it at the station for the next shift.

    About the only time that you COULD take it home is if you were in their Investigations group and were on call - but that's going to be an unmarked unit.

    Many station commanders (lts) and above are assigned department vehicles - but they're also unmarked.

  4. In a city the size of Sacramento it would not be possible for officers to take their units home, they are used on the next shift by other officers.  Some of the motorcycle cops in some towns own their own bikes so the can take them home and should.
