  1. I have two boys that are going to preschool for 3 hours mon-fri and I am so happy! That is 3 hours alllll to my selffff!

  2. Urrm, it starts on September 12th!

  3. Yes! I love doing the back to school shopping with my daughter minus the cost but I'm ready for them to go back. It's hard trying to keep them entertained and they get alot more socialization at school. I wish they didn't start them on a Monday this year as that is hard on them. I think they should break the summer break up over the year into smaller fragments. I think it would help them to retain more and have more fun when they are off.

  4. I got ya'll beat!!  MIne go back August 21 :-)  But alas, I'm in a catch 22 because I'm a sub lol so I go back when they do lol

  5. I am a parent, and yes!-I am glad that school is starting again.  I homeschool my children, and we are all excited about starting our new year.  We have some exciting things planned for this year.

I like my children, and do not wish them away to a government babysitter for 7 hours a day.  That so many parents view public schools as nothing more than that, is part of the reason our schools are in the condition they are in.

It always makes me sad when I hear parents getting so excited about their children going back to school so that they can "get rid of them".  I love my children, and enjoy spending time with them.

  6. My daughter is a grown-up now and my grandson is just a toddler.  But I had to chime in and say, I really, REALLY miss the back-to-school shopping for a new backpack and lots of pens and pencils and highlighters, and looking at all the new notebooks and folder.  My daughter and I always had a blast.  And then to get everything home and it's all new and shiny.

But I have to admit, when she was growing up, I always looked forward to her getting back to school every August.

  7. summer school hols are too long especially when weather bad.i do miss my kids when at school though.

  8. yes....we homeschool, and it's so exciting to watch my child learn!

  9. yes! and if you get lonly, then remember that they are getting a great education that will help them in the future. and visit them for lunch sometime, i used to like it when my mom came for lunch when i was younger.

  10. yeah! lol. I love my girl, but I am glad that school is coming up.

  11. My youngest is 18 months so I still have him at home! The kids here (UK) go back on the 2nd september and yeah, i can't wait!!!

  12. I am happy. My 2 oldest are going back to school in about 2.5 weeks. The only thing that bugs me is that my older child does not get his supply list until like the week before school starts. My daughter got her supply list before school let out...I have most of her supplies purchased already. It will be nice to have time to spend alone with my toddler, and for him to be able to nap in peace. And to be able to get a gallon of milk without 3 "gimmee's" trailing behind

  13. Well I'm a summer person! I like spending time with my children, bringing them to the park, going camping, etc. But I'm going to be pretty lonley because when school starts, the kids are going to go to school every morning, my husbands going to work. And since I'm a stay at home mom I'll be home alone until everyone gets home! On my part it's going to suck :( But for thekids it's going to be good for them! They need the education :)

  14. I have one son who is going into 2nd grade. He will be starting August 7th and my daughter starts preschool a few weeks later. I cannot wait to have 4 hours a day to myself..

  15. WAHOOOOOO!!!!!! SEPTEMBER 2 CAN'T GET HERE FAST ENOUGH...LOL!!!
