  1. I'm not a pharmacist but these are the vibes i get from the pharmacist that i have interacted with through out my life

    1)  It's a job that makes decent money, and that is why they are doing it

    2)  They really like helping people understand what their medications are for and how to use them correctly to be most benifitical to the patients

    3)  They love medicine but it is only a temp job while they continue studying to maybe become a MD or something

There is probably more views but those are the most prenominant ones i have noticed

  2. I have been a pharmacist for over 18 years.  It is part of my personality, and I truly enjoy it.  Pharmacy is the only healthcare profession that is expected to dispense knowledge and advice - free of charge.  This status give a unique perspective of being largely free of conflict of interest.  Pharmacists are often voted one of the most respected professionals for this reason.

Like any other job, one can and will get burnt out.  At year 5, I did - I took the MCATs and became a podiatrist.  I now work in both fields, and I have never relenquished my pharmacist license.

Retail pharmacy is only one avenue.  You can work in industry, academics, hospital, and many other settings.

I have been a pharmacist for 18 years, and will probably continue for another 18 years.

    Best of luck!
