  1. well i work at a day care (2 year olds) and here is our day

    come in from breakfast 8AM

free play till snack at 10 AM

go to the gym or outside till lunch 11:30 Am

Nap from 12:30- till about 2:30

    snack at about 3:15

then free play till parents come

I also teach preschool and the schedule is similar, but its a half day so we have no nap or lunch.. we have a mix of snack, free play, and everyday there are 4 group activies for the morning 4 year old class and 3 group activies for the afternoon 3 year old class

  2. check out dis person's question like yours:

  3. Nap time, story time  eating/ snack time,  some art time

  4. Kids as young as 2 can learn to read.  There is no 'forcing', it happens naturally if you do it correctly.  It's all about fun.

Check out teachermama's response on this subject--she taught her 18 month old to read and they giggled together as he learned to read.

  5. Each teacher does things a little different. I like for my children to have more time at centers than at teacher directed activities.

I begin with self selection but during this time there are some expectations that the children need to do. If they do not choose to do it I ask them to come sometime during the next day or two to do this. My children are pre-k and come five days a week, some half day and the rest full days.

We have circle, skill work and then bathroom and snack. Playground  with story or Spanish or Music or Chapel time depending on the day. Next is lunch, story, nap, snack and then a fun skill work or self selection.

  6. I teach special ed. preschool, but also worked in several day care centers.  These days kids are getting pushed at earlier ages to learn to read and write, and I have issues with that.

We have 3-6 year olds in our program.  Our program mostly focuses on self-needs and social interaction.  The social interaction needs to develope before all the ABC and 123 skills.

A good preschool program needs to have plenty of free-play.

Children can interact with each other, develope problem solving skills, speech and language.  There also needs to be organized activity which includes, fine and gross motor sills, ( puzzles, and large body movement)  music and art.  They also need some down time looking at books, ect.

I hope some of this information is helpful.

I used to work with 3 year olds at a preschool center. Generally you have play time, art, go outside, eat lunch, have snack, play. It is pretty low key. Usually each center is different as to what they need to require of the teacher and the children each week. It may very from state to state with accreditation issues.c

  8. This is the scdule for the school I work at.

Children arrive between 8:00-9:30 this is also when we have inside play,

At 8:30 we begin taking the children to the bathroom and have them wash their hand for snack

9:00 Snack of cereal and milk

    9:30-10:45 Outside play

11:00 Take chidren to bathoom and Lunch

12:00 Storytime and/or reading at their mats

    12:00-2:00 Naptime

2:00 Take children to bathroom and Snack

    2:30-4:00 Inside/Outside play

  9. Well each preschool will be different. My day starts out with free play, then circle time where we do calender, weather, stories, songs, Spanish, then we do a project, we go outside, then its lunch and nap, after nap we do another project or have free play then go outside, and then its afternoon circle time where we go over letters, counting, colors, and shapes, stories and songs again, and then more free play.

  10. all preschools run differently and many are short programs only a few times a week. this is because unlike teenagers, preschoolers only have the ability to focus and work for a short amount of time. there is alot of play and creativity involved in preschool and there are alot of art and craft projects to define small motor skills. alot of times children will color a picture of what they are learning to further reinforce the subject. there is always a snack time about half way through the day and if the child is in a full day preschool then there will be an allotted nap time. they will also have a free play time where they can do their own thing and take a break for a bit. most preschool teachers dont have an hour to hour schedule simply because with a group of toddlers schedules are never constant. hope it helps!
