One child in full time education ( A Levels ) 1 child at university livng at home?? Please help trying to help a friend with info

  1. Depends on whether your friend is claiming benefits or not. Im a single parent who works and all I get is single person discount.  He/She may still be eligible for this as children are still in full time education.  Best place to look is government website, direct.gov, pretty informative and user friendly.


  2. Depends on what your income is

    If you are working full time then it may be that you may only qualify for the 25% discount. As one child is a student and the other at school they don't count for CT purposes, so you are treated as a single resident and get a 25% discount off the bill

    If you are a low earner you may get a higher discount depending on your income.

    If you are currently paying 100% of the charge then make a claim as you will save something.

    If you are in receipt of a means tested benefit like income support or JSA then you get a full CT rebate
