  1. No.  You are paying out of state fees aren't you?  Your residence is in Boston.

  2. Your paying out of state fees, your covered. It's that simple.

  3. It depends.  If you are in CA on a temporary basis for school purposes only, then no, you don't.

If, however, you establish residency, then you need to get CA plates and license.  Certain things establish residency, like paying in-state tuition at a UC or CSU, getting a permanent job, etc.

  4. No.  Your permanent domicile is what counts.

  5. No, you shouldn't have to as long as you can prove you are actively enrolled in school there. It's just like the military people can run their home state plates. They just need to be able to show they are military and they are "excused".

  6. As long as you live in California the law is you have to register your car here and get a license here.   You also have to get insurance in California.   Your car will have to get a smog check.   If you know you car will not pass a smog check then you are polluting our air for those that live here.

Just wait until your pulled over by CHP or LAPD for out of state plates.

So, now you are polluting our air and not paying car registration that pays for our roads.    Thanks.   Why don't you go home or if you want to stay then help pay our taxes and support our state.

  7. no. as long as you can provide proof you are currently enroled in school.
