  1. Yes, but it's more than just dairy you have to watch out for.  Whey is in a lot of stuff so you have to read labels carefully.

And contrary to a previous answerer, lactose intolerance is NOT a milk allergy.  Some people are dumb.

  2. Like muffins??!

  3. How do you mean, allergic?  Do you get diarrhea, or do you break out in hives?  It's probably a good idea to know the difference.  If you only have gastro-intestinal reactions, then you probably have a lactose-intolerance.  There are OTC pills you can take prior to eating dairy products that will make it easy for you.  If you are genuinely allergic, that's a different story.

  4. Yes.

Whey is milk plasma is the liquid remaining after milk has been curdled and strained; it is a by-product of the manufacture of cheese or casein and has several commercial uses

  5. Whey is a by product of dairy (it is also called milk plasma is the liquid remaining after milk has been curdled and strained)...it is considered "dairy" and if you are allergic to it, you might to stay away from a lot of dairy products, it is also a known trigger to migraines. It is a protein, many people drink whey shakes to gain muscle mass. I would talk to a gastroenterologist about your allergy and see what he suggests about dairy products in general for you.

  6. no unless your lactosintolerents that means your allergic to dairy products

  7. If your doctor told you that you're allergic to whey, that means no more dairy products.  They all contain whey to some degree.  Your doctor should have gone over this with you.

If you think you have a reaction to whey, you should go to a doctor and get an allergy test done if at all possible.  Read the following link for what to expect from an allergy test: http://www.webmd.com/allergies/allergy-t...
