  1. Absolutely - really, little has changed in that category with the US.  The only difference has been an adverse reaction by many in the world of America doing the things they so liked when there was a second supposed superpower but for misplaced reasons now fear.  This will pass in time and will be helped along mightily by Fuhrer Putin showing his true nature and the realization that he has been looping a noose around Europe's neck by his control of Russian and foreign oil resourses and pipelines.  Economically, the US is doing fine albeit suffering from one of the usual slowdowns that happen every couple of years.  Compared to the 1970s, the economy is booming and is still better then the one President Bush inherited after the Clinton stock market failure that cost so many Americans their life savings.  The one area that sticks out as very bad is the miliyary.  The overall size was cut in half during the Clinton years, an "appropriations holiday" was instigated that is the base cause of so much obsolete, over aged, and expensive to maintain equipment, and the budget was cut to a % of the GNP that was lower then anytime since the beginning of WW II (2%).  Even now, with Afghanistan and Iraq, it is half of that of the Kennedy administration and experts have testified that it needs to be doubled for at least 10 years to make up the damage then dropped to the current 4% (3% plus 1% additional conflict spending).

But all in all, America can still prevent the end of the free world, anyone can become rich with the right combination of hard work, preparation, and luck, and immigration is still causing population growth where Europe is shrinking.

  2. Of Course!!  If you listen to the libs you would think we are all on bread and water . They are the doomsday experts...negative negative negative.  Anyone in this country can achieve anything they wish to. We still have our freedom .Opportunities abound. The libs would have you believe the successful are evil. They promote class warfare.  The "poor me" mentality goes nowhere.  The government cannot bring you success. You have to work for it.  The libs are trying to put everyone at the same level..the nanny state, depend on the government for everything..cradle to grave. How exciting!! That is not what this country was founded on. Personal responsibility is the key.  The American Dream is alive and well, but you have to work for it.

  3. That is, indeed, the question.  I believe we are right at that razor's edge where we may yet have a choice whether to remain in nightmare or regain the dream, yet we are quite near a precipice....

  4.    Absolutely!!

The american dream is still alive and kicking... If you really WANT to achieve a good life in this country you have to ask yourself "What is holding me back? Find what it is and change it....and move on....

  5. I sure do.

  6. No.Even when you work very hard and you have done all things right you can still lose it all.

  7. Which one ?? That my children will be better off than me financially?  No, not with our economy.  That if you work hard you can achieve any thing you want to...no you still need a p***s and Masters Degree.  Owing a home?  It it a fallacy...homes are money pits and an albatross around around your neck financially...a constant drain of resources.  I want to wake of from this stupid dream

  8. I had a dream last night that might not of been the American dream but i hope I finish the dream tonight.

  9. I am not an American, but as a outsider I think the American dream is fading away.  Since the US economy is hitting its bottoms and other nations like China and India are picking up quickly, people have more doors to knock on besides US of A.

United States is not the best place on the face of earth anymore.
