  1. most atheists would turn that around on believers in benevolent beings.

  2. LOL NO!

Being atheist means you are aware of your self. People who put faith in things that don't exist can't know themselves, because they are willing to put their whole being into the hands of sort of hands of something that may not exist.

Life teaches us to NOT put all your eggs in one basket, doing so just makes you seem unaware.

  3. It's in the bible, so yeah.

  4. I'm an atheist and a fool.  However, the two are unrelated to one another.

  5. Close...If you are a Human than you are a Fool.

  6. no... it means that you don't believe that gods, goddesses, or God or Goddess exists

  7. Not likely, but some will believe a book rather than reality.

  8. If a fool listens to his reason first before he accepts a notion, so be it. I am a fool.

  9. I call no man/woman fool. But to believe something that cannot possibly be scientifically disproved is a very foolish belief. It's okay to question the existence of man in other ways, bu to entirely ignore and shun the possibility of something that may be true is ignorant.

  10. Possibly, but..

If you're religious, and go by a thousand year old book and believe in imaginary beings, and fairy-tales.. then does that mean YOU are a fool?

    You decide.

    :)

"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."-Mahatma Gandhi

Didn't god say not to judge others, to love, not hate.. blah blah blah..?

  11. No, i personally believe in God, but if you don't your not a fool. (Not saying you won't go to h**l or anything though)

  12. Rather than being definitive, it's all a bit relative.

  13. Yes.  The Bible says that those who refuse to believe in God are willfully ignorant.  The proof that God exists is all around us.  You just have to get over yourself, stop trying to be your own god, open your eyes and really look.

  14. It means that we've taken many points of view into consideration, researched many major religions, thought everything out independently, and came to our own conclusions whether it be atheism, deism, etc. So according to the Bible, where wisdom is equated with fear and dogma, then yes.

  15. Wow! A lot of responses for this.. and it's pretty much an insult masquerading as question.  That's cool by me.. Star for you! I like provoking people too.. Nothing like a good intellectual brawl.

Being an atheist does not mean you are a fool,, It means you have awakened to the horrible truth,,, but then again.. I am.. well, you know..

    BITTER.

  16. Not at all -- atheist just literally means 'without theism (religion)'. This doesn't necessarily necessitate a rejection of religion, but an implicit denial of an over-wielding, supreme being (God).

In actual fact, atheism is often linked to the sciences, and thus is seen by many people as the 'rational' perspective.

  17. wow four minutes and 24 ppl have already answered lol ... and why is that exactly? give more details i want to hear them all

  18. Biblically, the wisest man on the planet is a fool. What that makes everyone else is disturbing.

Realistically, who is a bigger fool, the person who believes outwardly while ignoring their doubts, or the person that speaks their heart?

  19. No...it simply means we do not believe in imaginary beings.  So I guess quite the opposite of being a fool.

  20. Paul said he was a "fool for Christ's sake".

So, if you are not a fool for Christ's, then you are not abiding by Paul's teachings. But if you are a fool for Christ's sake then you are, by definition, a fool.

  21. No

    Try again sheep.

BTW, just follow the line of other sheep into that building over there, and put your head in that little hole in the wall...

  22. The fool has said in his heart, "There is No God".  Also, how stupid is it for mere humans to determine for themselves that there is no God.  So my answer: YES!

  23. interesting choice of words. but a fool i do not think .when i think of atheists i must admit the first thing that comes to mind is how you intrigue me with much curiosity as to what makes you tick and as to why. fools are close~minded. wouldn't that make me a fool for thinking that you were one? but with all do respect (why do you believe it is the year 2008?)

  24. If you're smart enough to be an Atheist, most are just your average  humanities student with a liberal arts degree.  I mean if I would ask over half these people claiming to be Atheists to explain what exactly happened with the Big Bang or why Evolution is true, actually any real reason why God does not exist, in the real world, most would need to Google it on their Iphone just to give me a half-assed answer.

So to answer your question, yes some are fools, yet others are not.

  25. No, you only need to reverse your statement and then you will be correct,  without a doubt.

  26. Actually it's the other way around.

Atheists, believe in proof and logic.

  27. I find this question to be extreme, and I am a Roman Catholic. Each of us is on a personal faith journey. As we age, read and experience life, different aha's occur. Some of us grab onto the faith of family or pick up a book which captures what we are feeling. In my opinion it is best not to judge but to live and let live. With all of the violence in the world, sometimes even the most religious person might have a "dark night of the soul."

    Take care...

  28. It means we can see our own folly.

    Unlike fundies.

If you cannot see your own errors and correct them you can never develop beyond the level of slime molds (Southern Baptists).

  29. you'd be abnormal if you're an atheist... since crazy people is what is normal  in america.

  30. It seems that alot of atheist know more about reglion than christains.

    EDIT

11 thumb up and no thumbs down in 10 minutes.

That is  a new record for me

  31. Are you Christian?

I am. I know the atheists here don't need any crazy Christian standing up for them... but I would like to say it makes me angry when I see Christians - supposed followers of Christ, those who believe in his teachings and strive to be like him - posting things like this to purposely bait or get a rise out of those who do not believe.

Christians who do things like that give the rest of us a bad name. I'm content to live my life according to my conscience, give my opinion where it is asked, and live and let live.

How would you respond if an Atheist posted a question asking If you are a Christian - does that mean you are a fool? Probably immediately defensive and upset.
