I'm not sure what's going on but ever since I moved into this house a few years ago I've been sick, in nand out of er's, and have had chronic allergy/sinus and respiratory problems. They won't go away. I vacuumed, took some carpets out , put up hepa filters, anti allergy everything, take great care of myself, anti dander stuff for dogs, got tested allergy wise, and I'm fine, and I can't think of what else might be wrong, except

I jjust noticed that our basement has mold in it, and the shower/bathroom that I use has tiny black/dark spots which no matter what we do, keep coming back, and are extremely hard to remove, but they're tiny, and grow in corners and tiny crevices.

Nevertheless, sometimes after taking a shower, I do feel a sensation in my lungs, who knows, maybe I'm just imagining things.

Anyways, we had our basement treated and tested, and they said the mold was NOT dangerous.

Would that mean that the shower mold isnt as dangerous either?

It's scary, and it even started to form on the shamppoos/conditioners in there too.

What's this mean? Are we just not being clean enough?

I don't get it.

Also, if this does turn out to be dangerous, what tests can a doctor to do deduce that, and what are possible treatments/

IS there a treatment/cure, or do you just suffer and die? lol.

  1. Toxic mold grows in a no sunlight environment with a constant water source like from a leaking pipe. For instance; behind walls, ceilings, inside a/c units, basements, crawl spaces etc.  If the mold is growing in your basement 99% its toxic mold. The mold in your shower is probably not toxic as there is sunlight and air circulation. I would get another oponion on the mold in your basement. Make sure they take swab samples and send them to a reputable lab for species identity.

There are no tests your Docs can do unless you go see a lung specialist and tell them you need your lung tissue analyzed for mold.

the treatments are antifungal meds like lamisil pills.

  2. in the bathroom, it sounds like black mold. thats very dangerous. i had the same problem and sewed my old landlord for the money from my medical bills since i have told him many times to take care of the problem and he never did. but like i did, you could end up with chemical burns in your throat, esophigus, and lungs. its extremely hard on your entire body. if you find out it is black mold, your best bet for getting rid of it for sure is to replace the ceiling tiles completely and have that professionally treated as well. oh...and get rid of the shampoo and conditioners.lol if you are talking about medical tests, i would ask for a chest x-ray and/or ct scan. best of luck!
