  1. I think I am working that day, otherwise we'd have some type of pork and probably decorate eggs, we go more towards the pagan side of it than the Christian.

  2. probaly not my ex wont pay child support and im broke

  3. usually, we ALWAYS have mashed potatos with homeade gravy from grandmas house XD, then usually some kind of meet and a salad for me (vegetarian)

  4. I am celebrating Easter.  We will start the morning off with a good Easter Egg hunt.  Whether the eggs are outside or not will depend on the weather.  And since we celebrate all four seasons here in Southern Illinois...there is no telling what it will be like.  Once that is done, we will do some arts and crafts with the kids...just because its fun.  And then later in the day we will have a nice family gathering for Turkey or maybe Duck.  It's like Thanksgiving in the Spring.  Very good time.

  5. no i'm not

  6. We do the yearly easter egg hunt of course! And we always have ham, deviled eggs, and this jello pie thing that my grandma makes. Easter is a lot of fun in my family!

  7. My family always has a big meal kinda like christmas, but i'm 19 now and i still get an easter basket.  my mom is nuts.

  8. Yes, absolutely celebrating Easter w/ tradional foods passed down for generations.

Homemade p***a bread, of course, hard boiled eggs (that are decorated), honey baked ham, scalloped potatoes, pink horseradish, marinated sliced red beets, butter made into the shape of a lamb & a veg, either green beans or broccoli.

And for dessert, a white egg shaped cake w/ white frosting & coconut. Plus, all the Easter baskets filled w/ chocolates & peeps! : )

And what are you making or having? Happy Easter to you!

  10. No, but I would love an Easter egg hunt. I miss those good ol' days! *sigh*

  11. Tradition is basically just an Easter egg hunt and spend time with the fam

  12. Ham to eat on Easter. Easter baskets for the kids!

  13. We make my grandma's ham - it has cloves, brown sugar and dry mustard, then pour over gingerale.  My other grandma's butter beans with bacon and onions.  Mashed potatoes.  My sister did an easter egg scavenger hunt with clues to each egg and then a big prize (basket) at the end.  The kids loved it.  They are 14 and 17 and still talk about it.

  17. My family used to have a leg of lamb or a ham every year for easter.  I am alone now and wont bother with all of that, unless I can talk someone into joining me here for dinner - in which case there will be deviled eggs, ham, greens, scalloped potatoes and a lamb-shaped cake (covered with coconut frosting)

Oh, and hot cross buns, which I make on my own.

  18. nahhh its only easter.

  19. I'm not preparing the meal, but it'll probably be ham or turkey with the trimmings.  One year, I was ambitious and made a leg of lamb.  All the kids are grown so we don't do the eggs or the baskets anymore, although there is plenty of candy around.  Power to the Peeps! lol

  24. Yes, we celebrate Easter. We generally try to go to a "Sunrise service" and to our regular church worship service. Our whole family generally gets together at my house for dinner & egg hunts for the kids.We generally have a pre-planned covered dish menu:

Dinner generally is Pineapple-baked ham, Mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, peas, Coleslaw, corn, green beans, Candied yams or sweet potato casserole, Mac & Cheese, Fried Chicken, Bisquits, iced tea and dessert. We generally play 'surprise me" with desserts and see who can fix the most exotic dish.
