If you are color blind...?

Hey so I was wondering if being color blind means you cant be a fire fighter. I am not all the way color blind, I cant see Green, Orange, Purple and some Yellows and I get black/gray/white confused. I still see color just not the same as everyone else.......

I think that you should talk to your local fire departments to see if it is disqualifying. If certain items of equipment are color coded, dangerous circumstances require quick accurate response.

I am colorblind, but served 20 plus years in the Navy.  There were a number of positions, that I could not fill.

Probably not a firefighter. Pick another profession.
