there are no monthly train ticket in Spore? It is quite costly

to travel in spore.

My answer may seem not relevant to your question.

But it is my solution to the high travelling cost.

I buy a new motorbike, $3,800 for tpt. I can use it for next 10 yrs.

Weekly petrol - $9.00 pump at JB

monthly car park - $17.00 + parking coupon

maintenance - i buy parts at JB and DIY

yearly:-

road tax - abt $80.00++ for small bike

insurance - $100 +

inspection - less than $20.00

Be prepare to get wet in rain and burn under the Sun.

Do not speed or break traffic rule.

VERY IMPORTANT:

STAY AWAY FROM TAXIs, you will stay alive longer !!!!

Singapore is a small country. There is monthly concession for both buses and trains.... its for NSmen, Students and Senior citizens though. The average expenditure for transportation fare in singapore is roughly around $150/month. It all depends on your travel frequency....

It's because it's privatised, and it is purely about profit.

Train is a necessity and it's a monopoly. With or without a monthly ticket, 25% of Singapore will have to travel by train.

There is no reason, why they shall offer the monthly train ticket.

If you are a student/NSman/elderly, there are monthly bus and train concession stamps. For the rest of us, there is no monthly train ticket in Singapore.

But there are monthly bus ticket in Singapore. SBS recently introduced an unlimited monthly bus stamp at S$98.

There are monthly tickets for Elderly, Nation Service men, Students, Staff of SMRT / SBS, shareholders....

So if ur need a monthly ticket, my advice is to buy SBS shares....provided ur under 55 yrs old, not studying, not serving NS and not working for SMS/SMRT.
