  1. Call a school in the province you are looking to teach in.  Even though it's summer, they should have administrators working (at least in the morning).  Ask them for the website of the certification board.  That should get you started.

Eventually, you will need to talk to someone in certification about your circumstances, and what classes, if any, you would need to take to become certified.

  2. the previous writer was correct that each province has specific guidelines.  They don't vary drastically.  If you decide to teach in a province, check out the employment availability first.  In Calgary, Alberta it takes 1 - 7 years to be hired full time.  Most teachers start out as substitute teachers and then slowly take on temporary jobs that lead to full time employment.  The school boards keep telling us there will be a teacher shortage, yet it hasn't arrived.  Presently in AB new grads are being hired over experienced teachers due to the lower salaries that may be offered.

As a first year Canadian teacher you will make about 40,000/year.  There are always job openings in the far northern isolated regions of Canada.

Each province has it's own teaching union.  In Alberta it is the Alberta Teacher's Association; Ontario, the Ontario teacher's federation, etc.  The Alberta Teacher's Association if you contact will be able to provide the listings for other unions.  You will need to speak to an associate to do this, it won't be on the web site.  The web site for the ATA is www.teachers.ab.ca.

All the best,  Canada is great place to live.
