  2. It depends on your state.

You file for the marriage license, wait to get it, then call the judge you want to marry you and make the appointment.

  3. This is the best site for US marriage laws: http://www.usmarriagelaws.com

  4. Here is a link with all the info about marriage in Alabama

  5. It's according to what state you are in. You can apply and receive in in the same day in some states.  You should call your county courthouse and they should be able to guide you and let you know where you need to start. They should also have a list of Justice s of the peace, that can perform your marriage vowels.

  6. Hi and congratulations.

Look at this link.  It explains everything.  It also gives you the phone numbers of the county clerk's office (where you apply for the license.)  You apply for the license in the county that you live.

There is NO waiting period, so you can get the marriage license on the same day that you get married.  You will, however, need to make an appointment (for the wedding.)  If it was me, I would apply for, and get the marriage license, prior to the wedding.  That way, when you go to get married, you will already have the paperwork done.

Courthouse weddings are pretty much the same in every state.  You will walk in....say your vows....exchange rings (if you want to...this is not mandatory).....do the kiss....sign the marriage license...you are done!  That is it.  From start to finish It takes about 10 minutes.

    Good luck!

  7. It really depends on the state you live in. I know here in Missouri you can apply for your marriage license the same day you have a civil ceremony. You can probably look up the correct information by calling or checking the website of your local Recorder of Deeds office. Hope this helps.

  8. alabama has no waiting period, and you can pay to get the license and have the ceremony on the same day..though there may be a wait as others may be getting married as well.
