  1. Well if they are asking for something or a handicap and you are considerably better than them, then yes you need to offer them something. If you are playing eightball, I would offer them the break along with taking 2, possibly 3 of their balls  off the table. If he is not that great then it will take him forever to run the other 3 or 4 balls and get to the eight. This will also make it easier for you run your balls for less of his will be on the table. Plus you could always safe/snooker him. You should win easily. If you are playing nineball i would give him the eight or the seven ball. The odds should be in your favor in this situation also. If the guy thinks he has a shot and isnt asking for anything, dont give him anything and secure your riches. Good luck.

  2. You should start out slow, in Nine Ball maybe start out with giving them the break and then maybe the 8 ball.

  3. I have too many questions about your question! Is this someone you've known for awhile or someone you just met? What game are you gonna play? How much is a considerable amount of money? Who proposed this money game in the first place you or him?

Without knowing the answers to these questions it's hard to answer your question.

First of all, if this is a longtime friend of yours you probably shouldn't be playing for a large amount of money at all. The results of the match could possibly cost you a friend , not good.

Secondly, if this is someone you don't know too well , be careful, maybe he hasn't shown you his real game yet.

If you're the one asking for the money match then you should expect to give a little weight. If your playing nine ball give him the break and go from there. If he's the one asking for the match then you should expect the same from him.

I don't condone pool hustling in any way shape or form. If 2 good players wanna play each other for some money that's fine. But, to take advantage of somebody because they aren't very smart or very good pool players is just not right.

  4. in any negotiation, let the other side make the first offer..if they ask for something  you can live begin there!  good luck
