  1. There's still tension here and there, but overt discrimination is pretty uncommon - if only because it will get you into butt loads of trouble.

  2. I can't answer for every base but I know when I was in I was from a all white town was never around any other color so you can be d**n straight that they put me in a all hispanic and black platoon and my battle buddy was black.  We all got along fine because no matter what your color you all start the same and get built back up to a soldier.

  3. there isn't alot, but plenty of it, you have to remember Soldiers are from all over the country, a white country kid could be from a loony city where they think they won the civil war...or a kid from an all black community were they hate white people.  the plus side is, if any action is taken on you (or you on them) there is always someone higher ranking you can file a complaint to because the Army dosn't tolerate it.

  4. im kinda racist but when i was in the army it didnt matter...all soldiers are green and my brothers

  5. I am a black soldier and while it happens sometimes. The military is huge. It isn't often. I just got back from 2 weeks of intense training at a course , and there was no racist discrimination or tension. usually disagreements were based on personality. Treat everyone with respect and get to know all of them.

  6. I've seen it once or twice.

  7. oh yeah but dont let it bother you everybodys afraid to do anything about it
