  1. It would be C.

  2. you should never let go of the steering wheel

  3. My defensive driving instructor gave me quite interesting instructions about this:

His point of view was that for a minor skid you should always do the opposite of the action that caused the skid.  If caused by excessive braking, ease up on the brakes,  if it's power oversteer/understeer you've applied too much accelerator so ease up on the throttle,  if your plow understeering then you've applied too much steering angle, so you need to ease up on the steering wheel.

    BUT!

If you're completely out of shape. And that means over thirty degrees off line,  only seriously expert drivers who practice skid control often,  will ever recover control.  Then the best course of action, for the 99.5% of the rest of us, is to brake and brake hard.  If you end up hitting something,  any speed you have shed could end up saving your life.

Even brakes locked up is better than no braking, or god forbid, accelerating to try to maintain control and then hitting the tree.

Also,  almost all modern cars have antilock braking.  If you are skidding and really out of shape, unless you drive rally cars,  drift for fun or profit,  or your surname is Andretti,  slam on the brakes.  Don't try to be a hero

  9. So, shall I do your homework for you?

If you are involved in a skid, first of all, you are driving too fast or steering too severely or braking too hard for weather/road conditions.

If you are involved in a skid, you should NEVER lock your brakes (C), or oversteer...........remember also to reduce your speed in bad weather and follow further behind, brake gently and keep steering as straight as possible (on slippery road lane changes for example).

  10. C. Lock your brakes

  11. Yes!!..C...NEVER lock the brakes!.

Take your foot off of the gas....and steer into the direction of the skid... and try to maintain control of the vehicle as best as you can. If..during a skid...you start skidding the other way...then steer into that direction as well....always steer in the direction of the skid.
